Fianna Fáil Reject Fine Gael’s Coalition Deal

That's that so.

Fianna Fáil has rejected Enda Kenny’s offer of a full and equal government partnership.

After a meeting this evening, Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin said that the party had decided to honour their promise not to form a government with their main opposition.

Speaking on the RTÉ Six One news this evening, Martin said that Fianna Fáil could not make promises to the nation and later renege on them.

He also said that the country needs a “stable and lasting government” and that the Fianna Fáil party is open to talks.

This latest development means that a second General Election is a real possibility with the alternative, an unstable minority government.
