Footballer Adam Johnson (27) has been charged with three counts of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16, Durham Police have said.
The Sunderland and England player, from County Durham, has also been charged with one offence of grooming.
Adam Johnson is facing child sex charges.
He was arrested on March 2nd and will appear before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on May 20th.
The offences allegedly involve a single victim and are said to have occurred between December 2014 and February 2015.
