Cork’s O’Donovan brothers were absolutely hilarious again in their post-Olympics win interview

Simply the besht!

These two lads won silver today – but their interview game is pure gold.

Paul and Gary O’Donovan are the new heroes of the Rio Olympics after winning a silver medal in a brilliant show in the men’s lightweight double sculls final.

We’ve quickly grown accustomed to the two boys’ grounded, deadpan – one might say “pure Cork” – style in their media interviews.

There was this one on Monday:

The killer lines there were:

“We handled it very well,” Paul said. “We were almost disappointed we couldn’t race yesterday, it would have been a bit of craic.”

“We’re well used to be a bit of wind,” Gary piped in. “That kind of thing wouldn’t faze us at all.”

Then, yesterday, came this legendary clip:

The big takeaway from that:

“We’ll get home to get ourselves into an ice bath anyway, cool ourselves down a bit. We’ll get a bit of steak, the food here is fantastic. Steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner with spuds if you like…!”

Though the key line was: “‘Tis great to beat the Brits!”

Now, basking in their Olympic victory, we get a new instalment of the Brothers O’Donovan.

Just listen and enjoy.

Someone give these two lads their own TV show ASAP.

This was the reaction in their local Skibbereen to their win.

On behalf of everyone at Her – indeed, the nation – we say:
