Dublin will play host to 104 bands and 3,500 minutes of music this weekend as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes festival, which kicks off on Thursday.

The Academic, Ham Sandwich, Maud In Cahoots, Little xs For Eyes, Liza Flume and Dott are just some of the names that will perform across seven venues from Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th October.

The festival aims to highlight Ireland’s emerging musical talent and will encompass a convention, facilitating discussion and debate on issues including booking gigs at Irish festivals, the future of the music industry, getting spotted by music scouts and breaking into the international festival scene.

A free music trail will also take place across the city over the course of the weekend and full details are available here.
