A shop in Claremorris, Co Mayo is being sued by American brand Hollister over its name

The names are very similar.

A shop in Claremorris, Co Mayo, called Hollystar is being sued by Abercrombie and Fitch (the owners of Hollister) over its name.

According to The Times, a high court action has been filed against the shop over claims that it breaches copyright of the Hollister brand.

The Mayo shop used the symbol of an eagle alongside the name, whereas Hollister uses a seagull.

The shop stock suits, shoes, jackets and some popular brands including Superdry and Freddy jeans.

It describes itself as a “wholesale and retail shop providing workwear, tracksuits, shirts and many more for gents and children.”
