Emergency services are at the scene.
All operations at Shannon Airport have been suspended this morning due to an incident involving an aircraft.
The airport confirmed that news that an accident with a Boeing 763 took place on Thursday morning with all passengers and crew having to disembark from the plane and the emergency services being called.
According to RTÉ, air traffic controllers noticed a fire and smoke coming from the aircraft’s landing gear as it made its way through the runway.
