Wrap up warm! Met Eireann warns temperatures are about to plummet

There's no doubt that conditions have taken something of a turn over the last number of days.

Yes with November here, darker evenings, and the arrival of seasonal lights in towns around Ireland, it's now well-and-truly wintertime. So it seems appropriate that the weather is this week only going to get even colder. On Monday evening, for example, temperatures will sit at just 3C in some areas of the country. Met Éireann also warns of "heavy, persistent and locally squally rain in the west," which will "transfer eastwards overnight". Tuesday with kick-off with "cold, crisp and sunny conditions" countrywide. However, the forecaster highlights that heavy "scattered showers," as well as "a risk of hail and thunder," will then impact on Atlantic coastal counties. Met Éireann adds that the day overall will be "chilly, with afternoon highs of just 7C to 9C."
