Ireland’s fairytale World Cup will continue for at least another game after they beat India in a thrilling penalty shootout in their Women’s Hockey World Cup quarter-final.
After 60 breathless, scoreless minutes in London, Chloe Watkins stepped up and maintained her composure to score the decisive penalty and secure a place in Saturday’s semi-finals against Spain.
Ireland were ranked 16th in world prior to the tournament but will take their place in the final four in what is a magnificent achievement for this team.
