I tested night creams and these 3 impressed me the most

Tell me more.

leaving the heat on

It’s a great catch phrase, but did you know that beauty sleep is an actual thing?

It’s true.

In fact; researchers who have looked into this have found that people who miss out on sleep actually appear less attractive to others. And what’s worse, a couple of bad nights is enough to make a person look “significantly” more ugly, their sleep experiments suggest.

Yikes.

It seems dark-circled “panda” eyes and puffy lids can even put others off socialising with you, the researchers found, and people were rated by strangers as less healthy and approachable when they had tired faces.

Sure look – we could all probably do with sleeping more – for our overall health and our complexions. However, as we also all know – that, sometimes, is easier said that done. Which is why I am glad there is help to be found is some hard-working beauty products.

I recently went on a little mission to find the best night-time products out there, and having tested my way through a lot of lotions and potions, here are my top three – guaranteed to make you look fresher and more awake come morning:

1. Novexpert Peeling Night Cream

This clever over-night peeling cream will work reveal silkier skin whilst you sleep. Thanks to PHA (very soft fruit acid) and AHC (Lactic acid grafted onto Arginine),  the Novexpert Peeling Night Cream’s Chrono-Peeling delivers ‘double speed’ peeling. As well as the above, the PHA and Papaya Extract offers surface- and in-depth peeling carried out by AHC and Glycolic acid.

I had only used this for a couple of nights when I saw a clear reduction in hyperpigmentation, with my skin looking far more radiant and rejuventated.

Even better? This cream is 100 percent vegan and contains no scary chemicals.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow

Literally in awe at this multi-use balm, and ever since using it on my skin for a flight recently, I have started using it as a night mask a couple of times a week, just to give my skin a little extra TLC.

With ingredients like organic Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil to stimulates micro-circulation and enhances epidermal renewal and Artic Cloudberry Oil, high in vitamin C, to nourish and revitalize dry skin, this will give you instant results – you have my word.

Vitamin A will also work hard to improve your skin’s firmness and ‘bounce,’ while rosehip and camellia oils are added to moisturise your skin for a smooth and supple complexion.

I mainly noticed how totally luminous my skin looked after a flight – something which has never before been the task with my dry, slightly sensitive skin.

A total star buy if there ever was one, and one you’ll be guaranteed to buy over and over again.

3. Herbivore Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment

I had been so excited to try this, being a huge fan of Herbivore’s clean and effective beauty products for a while now.

And I am happy to report that it did not disappoint.

This multi-tasking night treatment really felt like it was nourishing my skin with potent antioxidants such as the fruit enzymes of red raspberry seed, goji berry and prickly pear. To get thechnical, these ingredients help to repair damage to your skin caused by oxidative stress and pollution.

Kokum and shea butters help hydrate the skin from withi, as these work as natural humectants that maintain moisture levels in the skin, keeping it soft and supple. The presence of hyaluronic acid (the Holy Grail ingredient of the moment) also helps to boost skin elasticity while aloe vera juice works to soothe skin and minimise breakouts. It is a suitable night treatment for skin that is acne-prone.
