Autumn staycation? Right now, you can get a great deal on a weekend in Belfast

Trine Jensen-Burke

Titanic Hotel Belfast

It’s a great city, just up the road from us, and filled with lots and things to see and do, and so many great places to wine and dine too.

If you haven’t been yet, trust me, you are in for a treat.

And right now, if you fancy a(another) little staycation this autumn, you can get a three-night stay for the price of just two nights at the gorgeous Titanic Hotel Belfast.

The hotel, which recently won the “Northern Ireland’s Leading Hotel” award for the third consecutive year at the World Travel Awards, is the perfect place to stay during any visit to Belfast, as you’ll have many of the city’s main attractions and best shopping and restaurants on your doorstep.

Located in the former headquarters of Harland and Wolff (the ships yard where the Titanic was built), the Titanic Hotel Belfast has 119 luxury bedrooms decked in an Art Deco nautical theme, and makes for the perfect backdrop for your visit up north.

And when staying at the Titanic Hotel Belfast, make sure you check out the hotel’s Wolff Grill restaurant. Nowhere else in the world can you enjoy fine dining with views towards the spectacular Titanic Belfast building and historic slipways where Titanic and her sister ships Olympic and Britannic were constructed.

As for the food – let’s just say it’s no wonder the restaurant has just been awarded Ireland’s Hotel Restaurant of the Year for its second consecutive year.

However, while making sure to dine in the Wolff Grill one evening of your stay, make sure you also check out some of the other amazing eateries Belfast has to offer. Luckily, many of these are right on your doorstep in the Titanic Quarter of the city.

Here are just a few we have loved and can recommend:

Dean and Decano is a smart, stylish and buzzing restaurant / café / bar with a distinctly Italian flavour. Located on the fashionable Lisburn Road in South Belfast. Deane and Decano is open for morning coffee, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner 6 days a week.

In the vibrant and busy Cathedral Quarter, make sure you pop into Hadskis, and enjoy an ever-changing menu of daily specials made from locally sourced produce, alongside some classic European dishes. Hadskis is also a great spot for people-watching, to check out what the trendiest of locals are eating, wearing and talking about.

OX is a cool and funky restaurant with a plate glass shop front overlooking the water. The interior is trendy, think exposed brick and polished concrete details, and the crowd is a mix of tourists, hip locals and frankly just anyone who appreciates really good food.

See and do around Belfast

In fact, Belfast has experienced somewhat of a revival in recent times, becoming quite the destination for a fashionable city break – with lots to see and do.

Titanic Belfast – just voted Europe’s best tourist attraction – is the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience and a “must-see” visit in any tour of Belfast and Northern Ireland. It is located in Titanic Quarter, right beside the historic site of this world-famous ship’s construction.

Housed in an iconic 6-floor building, this state-of-the-art visitor experience tells the story of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end.

If you are keen to explore Belfast, the most fun, convenient (and cost-effective) way to get around is by bicycle. There are plenty of Belfast Bike hire locations dotted around Titanic Quarter. A cycle around Belfast’s Maritime Mile, a nautical mile around Belfast’s stunning historic waterfront, is the perfect way to spend a sunny day. Keep an eye out for the six Glass of Thrones windows along the Maritime Mile which depicts some of the most iconic scenes from the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones.

Belfast is a thriving city, bursting with culture and life however, it is no secret Belfast has had a troubled past. If you are curious to find out more out about ‘The Troubles’, what better way than to learn from a local who has experienced them first-hand. Black Taxi Tours viewing the city’s murals and peace wall can be booked directly through Titanic Hotel Belfast’s concierge team. They can even arrange free collection to and from the hotel entrance.

And right now, when you book two nights Bed and Breakfast at Titanic Hotel Belfast, you can now enjoy a third night for free – compliments of the hotel! From £295/€347 per room.

Sounds amazing? We know. The perfect offer for anyone wanting to experience Belfast and all it has to offer this autumn.
