GO ON THE LADS.

Galway has been listed among the best cities in the world to visit for 2020, confirming our suspicions that the west truly is best.

Lonely Planet named Galway as fourth in their annual list of class places to visit.

According to their ‘Best In Travel 2020′ list, the city is “arguably Ireland’s most engaging city”, which seems fair enough considering the abundance of pubs, culture, history, and pubs you’re bound to find there.

No better place, etc.

“Brilliantly bohemian Galway is arguably Ireland’s most engaging city,” they said.

“Here brightly painted pubs heave with live music and cafes offer front-row seats to watch buskers perform.

“And this year all that creative exuberance is being supercharged by events marking the Galway region’s role as a 2020 European Capital of Culture – the city’s calendar is as packed with activity as the bars are with locals on a Saturday night.

“Expect street spectacle, live and digital art as well as world-class music, theatre and dance. Sleep might have to wait – in Galway even the buskers play late into the night. Vivid and vibrant, brimful of imagination, Galway in 2020 is home to a year-long, city-wide, arty party. And you’re invited too.”

Class.

Number one on the travel guide’s list went to Austria’s Slazburg, which next year will be celebrating its centenary, meaning that a party is absolutely on the cards.

Second was Washington DC, a city that will also be celebrating a 100 year achievement – the anniversary of the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote.

Third place went to Egypt’s Cairo, due to the new and fascinating museum in Giza that is finally set to open its doors in 2020.

Fourth was the stunning and cultural swarmed Galway, followed by Bonn in Germany – a city known for its world famous concerts and beautifully orchestrated performances.
