Fancy a seaside getaway in Waterford this weekend?

Rain or shine, a weekend spent relaxing on one of Waterford’s many stunning beaches is always a treat.

Whether you’re planning to go for a refreshing ocean swim or simply want to enjoy a scenic coastal stroll, there’s plenty of stunning seaside spots along the Copper Coast for you to visit.

If you are thinking about visiting the Eastern coastline this weekend, or if you’re lucky enough to live nearby, here are our favourite Waterford beaches that you need to explore.

Ardmore Bay

Nestled in the picturesque seaside town of Ardmore, this mile-long sandy beach is ideal for lapping out in the sun, going for a swim or enjoying some exciting watersports. There’s also a nearby cliff walk that is a must-do if you want to stretch your legs and take in some stunning coastal views.

If you start to get hungry or fancy a drink, you’re within walking distance of everything Ardmore has to offer, making it the perfect spot to explore this weekend.

Tramore

Tramore is one of Ireland’s dreamiest seaside towns. Featuring 5km of sandy Waterford coastline for you to relax on and explore, there’s also plenty of coastal dining options if you want to grab a bite to eat. There’s even a funfair and a mini-golf course nearby, so we’re sure you’ll get hours of entertainment out of any visit to this coastline.

Plus if you visit Tramore this weekend, you could be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes!

Virgin Mobile have launched the Freedom Mobile Booth, and it will be popping up in Tramore this weekend on Sunday, 22 August.

And if you track it down you could WIN!

So, how does it work? Find the Freedom Mobile Booth on your visit to Tramore this Sunday and answer the phone when it rings, you’ll WIN some cool prizes including dry robes, body boards, tents and a brand new mobile phone!

Sounds pretty simple, right? Keep an eye out for the Freedom Mobile Booth in Tramore this weekend and be sure to answer it if it rings – Freedom is Calling!

Benvoy Beach

If you’re look for a peaceful, secluded bay to relax on this weekend, Benvoy Beach is the perfect option for you. This stunning coastal bay has a secluded feel to it, making the perfect spot to visit if you’re looking for some peace and quiet this weekend.

The beach itself is a bit rocky, but it’s an ideal spot for a paddle or a seaside picnic, and the surrounding cliff edges make for a stunning scenic view too.

Clonea

Clonea beach is always a popular spot among visitors to Waterford, and it’s easy to see why. Feature a stunning sandy beachfront and incredible views of the sea and nearby mountains, it’s the ultimate spot for that escapism you need at the end of a long week. If you fancy a swim, the water here is shallow for the most part and it’s a popular spot for watersports too.

Clonea Beach is a short ten minute drive from Dungarvan but the Waterford Greenway also runs nearby this beach, so why not rent a bike and cycle out to this coastal haven? We promise you won’t regret it.
