This private island in the Bahamas now has a waterpark and we are SOLD

What’s the first thing you think of when you think of a private island in the Bahamas?

Swimming pigs? Tropical sunsets? A festival created by Billy McFarland and Ja Rule that never actually happened because it was organised so badly?

Well, you can forget about all of those things because there’s a new waterpark that’s just opened up on a private island and it looks fairly unreal.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is the first of Royal Caribbean’s private island collection. Located in the Bahamas, the tropical paradise is full of chills and thrills that’ll ensure you’re never too far away from an intensely high waterslide or an immensely relaxing vibe-filled area.

The island is now home to a swim up bar, North America’s highest waterslide, a helium balloon, an enormous wave pool, and white sands that’d make you want to up and leave your job on the spot.

If all of that, for some reason, wasn’t enough to entice you, there’s 12 other waterslides, an obstacle course, a zip-line, and a couple of bars and restaurants cooking up some mean treats too.

Enough to keep you busy for a few hours, like.

Perfect Day opened officially just last month and although you’d probably love to just book yourself a flight and head on over there, visitors will need to access the island via a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

Prices start from around €385 for two people for three nights sailing from Florida or around €430 for four nights sailing from Miami.

The ship will also call at Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas so, you know, lots to see, lots to do, etc.

Michael Bayley, the company’s president and CEO, said that the opening of Perfect Day is just the beginning of multiple private island experiences planned for Asia, Australia, and the Caribbean.

“With Perfect Day at CocoCay, we are so proud to bring our 50-year legacy of innovation ashore to transform an incredible island that now completely revolutionises private destinations in the travel industry,” he said.

“It is exciting to see what we have dreamed up finally come to life; our guests truly are in for an experience unlike any other.”
