Body Beautiful – Three New Beauty Buys to Try This Week

Three new beauty buys to try this week...

Rebecca McKnight

It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Naked 2 Basics, RRP €29, Urban Decay

You might as well just put this at the top of any beauty fan’s Christmas wishlist right now. Urban Decay hit on something very special when they brought the very first Naked palette to market. Now, after three versions of full Naked palettes and the first Naked Basics, our enthusiasm hasn’t wavered one bit. According to UD, the latest release is a response to beauty junkies who wanted a palette of matte colour and couldn’t get enough of Naked Basics 1. This palette is cooler in tone than the original, with six taupe-hued matte neutrals. The big sell is that five of these are brand new shades. Here’s the skinny:

SKIMP – Pale nude satin

STARK – Nude-pink matte

FRISK – Warm grey matte

COVER – Muted red-brown matte

PRIMAL – Muted brown matte

UNDONE – Deep, smoky brown matte

We’ve raved about the Urban Decay shadows on these pages in the past, with good reason. The pigment is amazing, they last forever and they go on like silk. This one is an all round win, with six shadows in a dinky handbag-sized palette for a very reasonable €29. Yes please.

Master Graphic Eyeliner, RRP €8.29, Maybelline

We have a lot of time for a good eyeliner, and this is a good eyeliner. Maybe it’s Maybelline, but this tri-angled tip liquid liner is an absolute beaut if the perfect flick has evaded you until now. It’s especially handy when you want a night out style with graphic lines and a smokin’ sharp edge. The colour is a lovely inky jet black, not that annoying washed out grey you can sometimes be landed with. Better again, we’ve put it to the party test and can confirm it lasts all night. Winner.
