Dad Asks Daughter’s Doctor To Walk Her Down The Aisle After Life-Saving Diagnosis

This completely broke us.

The moment a father walks his daughter down the aisle is a proud moment for many dads and has been known to elicit tears from even the toughest of men.

One dad has decided to forego that honour because he wants the doctor who saved his daughter’s life to walk her down the aisle.

When Chloe was four, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and childhood cancer specialist, Dr. Alex Levy was one of the doctors who helped save her life.

In the below video, which was shared in 2012 but has only recently gone viral, Dr Alex explains how Chloe’s diagnosis came about.

The little girl had been having trouble walking and was vomiting. She then underwent MRI scans which showed she had a malignant brain tumour.

“I’ll never forget that the dad said to me, he said, ‘Will I ever get to walk my daughter in her wedding?'” Dr Alex said. “I said to him at that point, I said, ‘I don’t know, but we’re going to try damn hard to make that happen”.

“I told the father that, I said, ‘The only thing I ever want is to be able to go to her wedding one day,'” continued Dr Alex. “He told me a couple of weeks ago that he was planning to have me walk her”.

After the diagnosis, Chloe had three surgeries to remove the tumour as it kept growing back. She also had a year and a half of chemotherapy.

The treatment was successful and Chloe went into remission. The little girl has suffered a few setbacks since the video was made but she is doing well overall.

Dr Alex said that he is likely to retire after he gets the opportunity to walk Chloe down the aisle because he “doesn’t think there would be a greater high or sense of fulfilment after that”.
