Bride under fire for not asking ‘very close friend’ to be in her wedding party as her boobs are too big

Keeley Ryan

A bride-to-be has come under fire for admitting she didn’t want a “close friend” to be one of her bridesmaids – as her boobs were too big to fit into the dress.

The woman took to Reddit to ask for advice on the situation, explaining that she and her fiancé had recently set their wedding date – and, as a result, she had been asking pals to be her bridesmaids.

The group of possible bridesmaids includes folks from her job, childhood and college – which is where the issue arose.

She explained that she had a set of close-knit childhood friends, both of whom she’d known since grade school and seemed like natural choices to be bridesmaids.

Which is why it stood out – a lot- when she didn’t ask one of them to be in her bridal party.  Especially after all the other bridesmaids bean to post about it on social media.

The bride-to-be said that since then, the neglected pal had been “standoffish” and other friends told her that her feelings had been hurt.

This led the future bride to reveal the real reason she didn’t want her friend to be a part of the wedding.

She continued:

“She has MASSIVE breasts. Literally bigger than should be physiologically possible because she has a hormone disorder that caused her breasts to grow to an excessive degree.

“I originally planned on asking her to be a bridesmaid, but then I started thinking about the logistics of getting a bridesmaid dress tailored to fit her dimensions and how she won’t be capable of wearing a strapless dress because she can’t do strapless bras.

“Also she has these shoulder pads for her bra straps that she’s insecure about, so she would need a dress with sleeves realistically, and does that mean I have to settle on a bridesmaid dress with sleeves for all the girls to wear in the heat of summer?

“Or does she have to be the only one wearing a different dress? It stressed me out immensely, and I felt that it would be borderline impossible to find a resolution that wouldn’t somehow embarrass and/or ostracise her.”

She also admitted that she had a small fear her friend’s presence would be a “distraction”.

The bride-to-be added:

“Like I said before, I’ve been her friend since we were kids. I’ve been there through it all, and I have seen how people react to her situation.

“When people think back on my wedding, I want them to think about how beautiful the venue was, or how nice the wedding party looked, or (dare I say) my fiancé and I finally getting hitched!

“I don’t want people to remember my wedding for the bridesmaid with the giant boobs.”

The thread sparked a huge response, with most of the commenters feeling the bride was out of order. Other Reddit users shared suggestions on how she could have dealt with the situation and found a kind of dress that would have suited everyone.
