The gorgeous engagement ring trend you're going to see so much of in 2019
Oooh, we're in LOVE.
When it comes to engagement rings, some of the shapes (and colours) are definitely more popular than others - and, of course, there are always new trends emerging every year.
And while we are always going to have a soft spot in our hearts for the more classic styles, it turns out there has one particular trend that has emerged in 2019: coloured diamonds and gem stones.
From pink to blue to yellow, many perspective couples are leaning towards something a little less traditional when it comes to engagement rings.
Jason D’Heureux, the Creative Director of London-based jewellers Taylor & Hart, explained that couples are looking for more ways to make "even the simplest design more bold and beautiful."
"While diamond engagement rings remain a popular and traditional choice, more and more customers are looking for unique ways to make even the simplest design more bold and beautiful.
"Coloured gemstones including sapphires, rubies and emeralds, known for their iconic and vibrant shade, offer a wide spectrum of colours to express your creativity in a unique and personal fashion."
Coloured gemstones and diamonds have already proven to be pretty popular with celebrities - with a number of famous faces sporting some seriously colourful, sparkling rings.
Scarlett Johansson debuted her engagement ring at Comic-Con over the weekend, with the ring said to feature an 11-carat pear-shaped brown diamond on a curved band.
And Orlando Bloom popped the question to Katy Perry earlier this year with a flower-shaped engagement ring, featuring a halo-design of diamonds around a ruby.
Mr. D’Heureux continued:
"From Kate Middleton's heirloom sapphire engagement ring to Katy Perry's vintage-inspired ruby and diamond cluster, we're seeing royals and pop stars alike embrace coloured engagement rings."
