This Irish celebrity nail stylist shunned tradition with her STUNNING wedding dress

Orlaith Condon

We love nothing more than seeing a bride step outside the box.

Yes, we’re talking shunning tradition and embracing their own style for their big day, and one bride who did just that is Michele Burke.

The woman behind MicheleBNails and the talons of celebs like Pippa O’Connor, Rosanna Davison and Una Healy recently got married and even in what was possibly the most stunning location ever, her dress still managed to steal the show.

Yes, like many brides, Michele went through a lot of trial and error before she found ‘the one’ for her wedding ceremony in the La Villa Hotel in Italy but one thing was for sure – she was no traditional bride.

“When we started planning our wedding, I was rebelling against anything too bridal,” Michele told us of the early stages of planning.

“I felt like Carrie in Sex in the City when she tried on the wedding dress and got a rash.

“I was allergic to tradition!”

Certain she wanted to wear a short dress, Michele found it difficult to find something that she really loved and before she knew it, she was up against the clock to pick something.

“After months of looking online, I had passed the deadline for a bridal shop purchase and panic set in.”

And although Michele was steering clear of tradition, she surprisingly found her inspiration reignited after watching the biggest TV moment of the year – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

“Living in Dubai there is a huge choice of designer brands. I was drawn to Fashion Avenue in The Dubai Mall the day after the royal wedding.

“The first shop I looked in was Alexander McQueen and there, like a magpie, I spotted THE dress.”

The stunning gúna features an intricately embellished neckline with multicoloured beading, structured shoulders and form-fitting shape, and gave Michele the most incredible silhouette on her big day.

Teaming the gown with another designer piece in the form of some yellow Gucci heels, the nail stylist finished the look with a gorgeously simple birdcage veil.

While there might have been quite a few high-end buys for the big day, Michele tipped her hat to the high-street with her H&M earrings.

And with most brides opting for a nude nail colour on their wedding day, Michele again went against the grain and decided to add a pop of colour to her fingertips with a classic red polish with Gelish ‘Red Roses’.
