Hair colourist Rickey Zito has put together a step by step video tutorial where he explains how to achieve the tiedye effect.

Rickey concentrated on the bottom layer of the hair, sectioning it into ponytails.
He then used fabric to cover the ponytails and ensure only part of the hair was covered in colour.
The end effect is that the bright vibrant shades blend with your own hair resulting in a tie-dyed effect.
