There are many things to be thankful for in the 21st century, and the Her.ie offices decided we’d show our gratitude to the wonderful world wide web in a new series, ‘Reasons To Be Thankful For The Internet.’ Concert Hotels decided to compile the greatest singers past and present according to their vocal range and display the results in one fantastic interactive chart online. Taking the '100 Greatest Singers of All Time' list put together by Rolling Stone magazine in 2008 and the addition of some of today's top singers that included nominees for top male and female artist at the Billboard Music Awards 2014, they were able to cross-reference the resulting list with vocal range data curated by The Range Place. Topping the poll is Axl Rose followed closely by songstress Mariah Carey, Prince, Steven Tyler and James Brown. Country crooner Luke Bryan comes bottom of the pile alongside Taylor Swift, Karen Carpenter, Sam Cooke and Justin Bieber. The findings don't necessarily mean that these are the greatest vocalists of all time however is an indication of individual talent due to the octaves successfully recorded in the studio.
