If there's one thing we cannot get enough of at the moment, it's book-to-screen adaptations.
From The Housemaid and People We Meet On Vacation, to One Day and Bridgerton, some of our all-time favourite shows and movies are based on books, and we've found yet another series that is bound to win over audiences, as well as readers.
Award-winning author Margaret Atwood has long been one of the most adored and respected authors of our time, but nobody has summed up her work as perfectly as Anne Enright did when she described her novel The Testaments as "Atwood at her best... to read this book is to feel the world turning."
And that's exactly how you feel when you see the Booker Prize-winning novel come to life in the new Disney+ series, The Testaments. Atwood is no stranger to seeing her work adapted for the screen, but The Testaments feels that little bit extra special. Following the success of The Handmaid's Tale, The Testaments marks a new chapter with a dramatic coming-of-age story, streaming exclusively on Disney+.
The Testaments is a feminist classic in the making, and the series will undoubtedly be an impeccable watch.
Starring Chase Infiniti stars as Agnes and Lucy Halliday as Daisy, this is one series you can't miss.
Set in Gilead, four years after the fall of Boston, the series focuses on Agnes, the biological daughter of June (Elisabeth Moss), and explores the lives of the privileged Gilead through the teenage daughters of the commanders who try to take back power and agency by bringing down the oppressive regime from within.
There's no doubt that the series will be just as remarkable and emotive as the novel is. With the showrunner and executive producers of The Handmaid's Tale returning, we know this will be an addictive watch.
The Testaments is a story of two teenagers whose bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future. It is a story that highlights the power of connection and hope.
If you're a fan of a gripping dystopian novel, then this is one series you need to watch this year. Trust us when we say you'll regret not tuning in.
The Testaments will premiere with three episodes on 8th April, followed by new episodes weekly.
