Tonio Hugh attacked a man accused of throwing his son into a river while he was still alive.
Surveillance video has captured the moment the father of a missing and presumed dead 3-year-old boy launched an attack on the man accused of his murder.
In footage released by Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Tonio Hugh, the biological father of Nylo Lattimore, can be seen walking up behind Desean Brown, 22, as he sits in court, for a pretrial hearing in Ohio on Thursday morning.
Hugh strikes Brown in the head and lands several more punches as the accused tries to duck for cover before court staff come to his aid and drag Hugh away.
While on the floor of the courthouse, Hugh kept looking for Brown and tried to charge at him again after officers stood him up.
Eventually, Hugh was removed from the court.
Hugh calmed down after Brown left the room and asked one of the female officers that had been knocked to the ground in the medley if she was ok.
"I'm good, I want you to be okay," the officer told him, as the other officers involved asked High to "take a minute" and "breathe."
The female officer also told him that they "understand" his emotions and reminded him to "let the system work."
Hugh was placed in police custody and found in contempt of court, Fox 19 reported.
He was reportedly later sentenced to seven days in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Brown is accused of fatally stabbing his then-girlfriend Nyteisha Lattimore on 5 December 2020, before throwing 3-year-old Nylo into the Ohio River off of a pedestrian bridge, the following day, while he was still alive.
He is said to have disposed of Lattimore's body in the same river five days later.
Her body was discovered by authorities on December 12 and a stroller belonging to the boy was found in the river the following day. The boy was last seen on December 4. His body is yet to be recovered.
Brown was charged with two counts of aggravated murder for both Lattimore and Nylo and faces the death penalty.
