Barbiecore is the summer fashion trend nobody was prepared for

Barbiecore

All about pink.

Summer fashion has always been winter fashion’s more colourful, happier cousin.

However, this year, this cliché is taken ALL out and the whole thing started when images started to leak out from the filming of the upcoming live-action Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

The movie, which is hitting cinemas next summer, has sparked a rather sickeningly-sweet style shift. Enter: Barbiecore.

Yep – it’s true.

According to Vogue, Barbie is the unlikely muse of 2022 – and celebrities are already all over the trend.

At the premiere of Machine Gun Kelly’s new documentary, Life In Pink, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly himself looked every inch the real-life Barbie and Ken, sporting matching pink rinses to boot.

Yep, Barbie style is all about looking pretty in pink, and if you are looking for inspiration, you can take your lead straight from Margot herself, who’s been living her best Barbie Girl life on the set of the film.

However, while the Barbie movie no doubt is serving as inspiration to many, Vogue points out that Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli dedicated his entire fall 2022 collection to hot pink, which was developed in collaboration with Pantone.

The vibrant shade is the perfect pink for #Barbiecore, as proven by both Lizzo and Dua Lipa, who both have worn pieces from the collection at recent outings.

This €19.99 dress from H&M fits the bill perfectly.

So does this €35 one, also from H&M:

Zara also has a dress that fits the bill perfectly, and at just €49.95 it might be worth snapping up now:

This knit top – also from Zara – is a bargain at just €17.95:

And we don’t know about you, but we reckon Barbie herself would approve of this €69.95 Zara coat:
