10 hydrating sheet masks to pack in your holiday suitcase this summer

Trine Jensen-Burke

The ultimate travel-friendly beauty hero.

I admit it – I have become rather obsessed with the humble sheet mask.

It all started during lockdown, when sheet masks not only became the only beauty treatment of any sort one could at home in our own bathrooms, but also, for me anyway, a small way to pamper myself when the world felt crazy.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I am still obsessed.

Sheet masks are the ultimate speedy beauty treatment – they can plump, hydrate, perk up tired, brighten and smooth our skin – and all in the space of 20 minutes.

Even better? They are perfect for holidays and travels, as they take up no room whatsoever, and can even be carried on board the plane or train – and used in almost any setting and scenario when you just want to give your skin a little bit of TLC.

I mean; what is not to love? Sheet masks are zero mess and no hassle, even on the go. Just pop one on and watch your skin go from grey to glowing in no time at all.

And right now, having tested my way through a lot of masks over these past couple of years, these are my absolute favourite ones:

1. Ultraceuticals Ultra B2 Hydration Mask (5pk)

Yes, it’s pricy compared to many other masks, but it also makes my skin glow and look plumper than any other mask out there.

The new Ultra B2 Hydration Mask from Ultraceuticals is a hi-tech hydrogel masks featuring panthenol, sodium hyaluronate and peptides to help calm, comfort and restore hydration to the skin.

It is also enriched with Niacinamide, and will work to visibly plump the skin, making it look lit from within and younger – all in just minutes.

€95, South William Clinic

2. Avene Soothing Sheet Mask

Enriched with thermal spring water, this soothing, thin sheet mask easily adheres to your face and gives skin a radiant, hydrated glow.

It is made to treat dryness, dehydration, and puffiness, but is gentle enough to work well on all skin types and concerns.

3. Seoulista Beauty Super Hydration Instant Facial

This award-winning Super Hydration Instant Facial by Seoulista works to plump and replenish your complexion in just 20 minutes – and I always make sure I have one in my wash bag when I am travelling.

Complete with Bio-Cellulose technology, this super absorbent sheet mask clings to the skin and doesn’t feel like it will slip off if you move around, which I love. The mask is infused with a targeted 25ml of serum formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Coconut Extract, and will visibly plump, moisturise and hydrate your skin.

4. Patchology Rosé All Day Eye Gels 5-Pack

I always keep a packet of these in my fridge, and trust me – putting these chilled on your tired eyes is pretty much heaven.

The eye gel patches are made with antioxidants Resveratrol (made from grapes) and Strawberry Extract – all to help protect your sensitive under-eye area from environmental stressors—which can lead to early signs of ageing.

I love the sheet masks from Patchology, and this new Sleep Restoring Night Hydrogel Mask did not disappoint – rather the opposite, in fact.

I use this a couple of times a week on clean skin, and after having had it on for 10-15 minutes, I simply remove the mask, and pat the remaining serum residue getnly into my face. Waking up the next day, my skin always looks so healthy and dewy – I love it.

A two-piece hydrogel mask, the new Kiehl’s Instant Renewal Concentrate Mask is super-comfortable to wear and stays put no matter what you’re up to.
