1. You have to change your outfit a million times...
And then wear the very first outfit you tried on at the start of the night. That is if you can find it under the mountain of clothes that have accumulated on your bed. You'll also suffer some major dress envy when one of your friends sends you a pic of their outfit. This is all part of the fun.
2. You must leave your bedroom / bathroom looking like a bombsite...
Discarded dresses and tops, shoes you couldn't face spending the night wearing, an assortment of eye shadow palettes and tubes of lipstick, cotton pads, make-up brushes, wine glasses and a whole lot more need to be left strewn around the room. It's just the sign of a good night out ahead.
3. You need to put the time into perfecting your tan
The appropriate time and effort must be dedicated to creating the perfect golden goddess look. Exfoliation, moisturisation, working from the bottom up. With an applicator mitt. Getting this right is vital. The best way to do it? Use Rimmel's Sunshimmer Mousse - it dries in a few minutes giving instant colour so you can go straight out afterwards and it lasts up to 7 days!
4. Your favourite tunes must be BLARING from your laptop at all times
Whether Britney, Beyonce or the Backstreet Boys are your pre girls night out jam, turn up that music and start busting some moves as you work your magic. And make sure they're playing until you dance out the door.
5. You have to WhatsApp everyone you're going out with later
What are they wearing? Flats in the bag? Which bar first? How many pre-drinks are they having? Who's ordering the taxi? These questions must be answered as you're getting ready.
6. Social media channels must be updated
A cheeky Insta followed by a quick Snapchat and a Facebook update are mandatory before any girls night out. Get a group agreement on a filter for the selfie, get it uploaded, and boom, you're ready to hit the tiles.
7. The pre-drinks should be flying
When you're getting ready with a gang of pals, the beverages should be flowing. Our advice? Post eye-liner and pre-hair styling is your best window to get them started.
8. The pre-exit of the house panic
The Hailo is around the corner. Your mascara has already streaked, you haven't packed your bag and you can't find your perfume. This pre-taxi frenzy is a vital part of every great night out.
