The future.
There’s nothing worse than swatching a lipstick on your hand, thinking the shade is cute, purchasing it and then going home to actually apply it on your lips to realise you look like Ronald McDonald’s twin sister.
It’s not a lewk.
So, thankfully, we can now avoid two things with this brand new app from John Lewis. The first one is (like mentioned above) the mistaken panic buy post-swatch and the second is online blind buying when we’ve no clue what the shade will actually look like.
Thanks to this new nifty app, uses augmented reality to leave you virtually try on lipstick from over 300 brands including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury and YSL to name a few.
The app literally has thousands of lipsticks at the touch of a button helping you to find the right shade at your own ease – I mean, what a delight.

Sienne Veit, digital director for John Lewis & Partners, spoke about the new feature saying:
“Beauty is the perfect space for us to experiment with this technology and we hope our customers have lots of fun using it.”
The app is now available to try in the app store from John Lewis and Partners, the only catch, it’s not available to Android users sigh and there’s no update as to when it’ll be available.
