The make-up practice takes up to one hour, but Sahur admits it takes time and patience to find the patterns that best suit your face. Speaking to Marie Claire, the make-up artist said she experimented on her look – getting valuable advice from friends: "Face painting, henna and makeup have always been dear to me and I saw an opportunity to tie them together and grabbed it instantly… I tested henna patterns on half my face, took quick pictures and sent them to my friends for first impressions.”
So how should you go about attempting your own henna handiwork? Sahur advises using a concealer with a more liquid consistency, using very thin paintbrushes she picked up in an art shop. Revealing her handy tip, she wrote on her Instagram page: “I applied them on my face with very thin paintbrushes that I normally use on paintings. So if you were to try it for yourself, the more detail you want to incorporate into your henna contour and the thinner lines you want to make, the thinner the brush should be.” For more inspiration, or to compare your own efforts, seatch #hennacontour on Instagram for more beauty trial tips.
