Nike is normalising underarm hair now because underarm hair is normal

Big mood.

Us women have hair in lots of places.

On our heads, on our legs, on our arms, on our foreheads, on our backs, butts, bellies, and boobs.

Essentially, wherever there is exposed flesh, there can be – and oftentimes will be – hair.

It’s a normal thing that does not need debate or discussion. After all, it’s 2019, very few people are doing the “ew that’s gross” shtick anymore. And if they are, they’re not doing it in public.

And if they are doing it in public, they’re a very minute group of people who aren’t worth getting all hyped up about.

It’s grand.

It’s so grand, in fact, that Nike have even started using female models with body hair to market their products because yes, gals do work out with hairy pits.

And yes, we can still manage to look class while doing it.

Nike Women shared the above on their Instagram grid a few days back.

The ad features model Annahstasia Enuke wearing one of the brand’s sports bras posing with her arms stretched above her head revealing, you guessed it, her armpit hair.

Does Enuke opt against shaving her pits in general? Had she simply not been bothered to do them for a few weeks and then rocked up to her shoot? Does it matter at all?

Nah, it doesn’t.

All that matters is that she looks unreal and that it’s refreshing enough to see an influential global brand like Nike recognising that women have hair and that sometimes, it’s under their arms too.

Sound.
