Penneys is removing SoSueMe’s “Dripping Gold” tanning lotion from shelves.

The tan which was first launched last month is being removed and recalled due to a consistency flaw in a recent batch which has left the lotion formula thicker than normal.

In a video posted last night to her Instagram story, the beauty entrepreneur addressed the issue after receiving queries from worried fans, she said:

“Yes, you might be aware we have recalled some of the dark and medium lotions and that is simply down to a visual consistency error that we don’t like.”

But the star continued to assure fans that the tan is still perfectly fine and safe to use by saying:

“However, not to worry the product is still safe to use and it gives you the same tanning results. It’s completely fine, it’s just me being a perfectionist and not wanting any type of negative feedback from you guys.”

Suzanne has spent the past two years developing this tan and creating the product for her range SOSU by Suzanne Jackson. The lifestyle blogger already has a collection of products in this range including eyelashes, fake nails, nail polishes and perfumes.

A Penneys spokesperson spoke to Her saying:

“We have been made aware of an issue with the consistency of a small amount of SOSUbySJ Dripping Gold lotion which was sold in our Irish stores. The affected product has now been removed from sale.

We have been assured by SOSUbySJ that the product remains completely safe for use and conforms to all required legal standards.

However, a full refund is being offered to all customers if they wish to return it.”
