Someone’s invented a perfume that smells like kitten fur

Katie Mythen-Lynch

If your Chanel No. 5 is no longer doing the trick, there’s a new scent on the market… but you may want to avoid it unless you’re an animal lover.

The Demeter fragrance library has invented a fragrance they believe smells exactly like the fur of a tiny kitten.

What exactly that smells like we can’t quite fathom, but they seem pretty confident they’ve hit the nail on the head with this one.

Describing the Kitten Fur fragrance, Demeter’s perfumers say:

‘Cats. Love them or hate them. There is no in between. But everyone loves Kittens! Now after 15 years of effort, Demeter has captured the olfactory essence of the warmth and comfort of that purrfect spot, just behind a kitten’s neck.

A fragrance that truly purrs. And so, will anyone who experiences it.’

If you’d like to be the judge of that, Kitten Fur starts at $6 for a mini bottle here.
