The simple mistake we all make with our fake tan

Prepping for Saturday night.

Cathy Donohue

Epic fail.

We’ve often wondered why even after a painstaking application, our tan still ends up blotchy but now we know what we’re doing wrong.

If you’re rushing a shaving job, you might think nothing of taking the razor to the spots that you’ve missed post tanning BUT this is a bad idea.

As Allure point out, this is a ‘form of exfoliation’ and by doing it after your tan, you’re basically undoing all your hard work.

Anna Stankiewicz of Louise O’Connor Salon in New York City said that it “removes your tan” and leaves you with a patchy uneven job.

Now, we’re fully aware that getting time to tan is hard enough but it is worth taking an extra five minutes to get that flawless streak-free look.
