So what heat should you be hitting for perfectly styled locks?
According to researchers, 185C is the ideal temperature for your hot hair-styling tools.
Keeping your iron at this heat means you’ll be able to style your locks with the least amount of strokes, helping retain moisture and seal the cuticle. This is turn leaves you with shiny, smooth and humidity resistant locks.
A lower temperature can cause your hair to break from repeatedly going over the same patches with the heating tool which breaks the hair fibres, while the hotter temperature can destroy the natural protectors in your hair... which could lead to repeated trims to keep it thick and full.
Want to make sure you’re using the perfect heat per product?
Haircare experts recommend buying a styling tool with an adjustable heat setting that you can leave at 185C – and prevent damaging your hair with a higher heat.
