This little tube of toothpaste is causing a lot of controversy on Twitter

Cassie Delaney

A lot of products are gender-targeted.

Men’s deodorant, for example, is stronger because they’re smellier and they want to smell like steel and manly things. We women, on the other hand, are delicate creatures who perspire lightly and only require a light spritz of something that has a floral aroma.

It gets a small bit annoying but most of it can be taken with a pinch of salt. We’re wise enough to know it’s not personal.

Sometimes, when products are unnecessarily biased to one gender though, things get a little bit more confusing.

Such is the case with a viral tube of toothpaste that seems unnecessarily biased towards one gender.

The tube of Colgate MAX White – For Men has no distinguishing reasons for being targeted towards the extra organed species.

It was spotted and uploaded by @batorena and has now gained over 27,000 retweets and 45,000 favourites.

Some doubted the authenticity of the product but I can confirm that the Austrian version of the Colgate website does stock the variation.

Twitter responded not realising that the original poster was only trying to take the situation and make a joke out of it.

Luckily @batorena maintained her sense of humour throughout.
