Trying to pick a book of the month for April was not an easy decision, but Marian Keyes has come out on top.
There are dozens of incredible reads being released this month, but there is one that is standing out more than others.
The queen of Irish fiction, Marian Keyes, has released yet another novel and people are saying it's her best book yet.
The Irish writer has already soared to the top of the book charts with her latest work and we're not one bit surprised to see her experience even more success.
She has been a permanent fixture in the Irish bookish world for some time, but more and more generations are discovering and appreciating her work.
Her newest release My Favourite Mistake follows Anna as she lives what appears to be a perfect life in New York. However, all is not what it seems and Anna isn't happy with the life she is living.
She decides to leave her 'glitzy' and supposedly perfect life in New York behind and heads to Ireland to help her friends set up a luxury coastal retreat.
Marian Keyes is a professional at penning novels that are full of escapism and charm, but that are also incredibly real and relatable.
My Favourite Mistake is the perfect read if you're looking for something reliable, charming, and a story that will take you away from your own reality.
The synopsis reads:
'Anna has just lost her taste for the Big Apple. She has a life to envy. An apartment in New York. A well-meaning (too well-meaning?) partner. And a high-flying job in beauty PR. Who wouldn’t want all that? Anna, it turns out.
'Trading a minor midlife crisis for a major life event, she switches the skyscrapers of Manhattan for the tiny Irish town of Maumtully (population 1,217), helping old friends Brigit and Colm set up a luxury coastal retreat. Tougher than it sounds. Newflash: the locals hate the idea. So much so, there have been threats – and violence.
'Anna, however, worked in the beauty industry. There’s no ugliness she hasn’t seen. No wrinkle she can’t smooth over. There’s just one fly in the ointment – old flame Joey Armstrong. He’s going to be her wingman.
'Never mind their chequered history. Never mind what might have been. Because no matter how far you go, your mistakes will still be waiting for you'
