There's no doubt many of you will be tuning into the cozy show for the millionth time this autumn. Watching Gilmore Girls is a tradition, but it does get in the way of my reading list.
It seems like everyone is slowly starting to string up fairy lights, light their pumpkin-scented candles, and start watching one or two (or a dozen) episodes of Gilmore Girls. The evenings are getting colder and darker so it really is the perfect time for it.
But if you're looking for an extra dose of Gilmore joy then there's one biography you need to get your hands on this month.
Kelly Bishop, who plays the legendary Emily Gilmore on the show, has finally written a memoir.
The memoir has already gone to the top of my reading list for September.
In The Third Gilmore Girl, Kelly Bishop finally tells the story of her six decades in show business.
The actress and Broadway star opens up about her personal and professional life in this unapologetic and powerful memoir.
Fans of the actress will adore reading about her incredible life when it's published on September 19th.
If anything is going to drag us away from Stars Hollow then it's a memoir from Emily Gilmore herself.
Beloved award-winning actress Kelly Bishop, famous for playing the iconic Emily Gilmore in Gilmore Girls, finally tells the whole story of her six decades in show business in this long-awaited, candid, wise, and captivating memoir.
Kelly Bishop’s storied career has been defined by landmark achievements, from winning a Tony Award for her turn in the original Broadway cast of A Chorus Line to her memorable performance as Jennifer Grey’s mother in Dirty Dancing.
But it is probably her role as matriarch Emily in the modern classic Gilmore Girls that cemented her legacy.
Now, Bishop reflects on her remarkable life and looks towards the future, sharing some of her greatest stories and the life lessons she’s learned on her journey. From her early transition from dance to drama, to marrying young to a compulsive gambler, to the losses and achievements she experienced—among them marching for women’s rights and losing her second husband to cancer—Bishop offers a rich, genuine celebration of her life.
