Amanda Cassidy has landed a massive book deal for her novel, Beautiful Liars
Best-selling Irish author Amanda Cassidy has landed a preemptive offer for her fifth novel, Beautiful Liars.
Her novel will be published as a lead title by Century (UK) and by Putnam in the US in 2027.
Putnam is the same publisher of Big Little Lies, so we know Cassidy's novel Beautiful Liars is going to be something special.
The highly anticipated novel by the beloved Irish crime writer is not set for publication until 2027, but readers are already itching to get their hands on a copy.
Speaking about the major news, Cassidy said it is a "once-in-a-lifetime experience."
"So happy to finally share my big news! My fifth novel, Beautiful Liars, is coming in Spring 2027, publishing on both sides of the Atlantic after a whirlwind once-in-a-lifetime experience of preempts in both the UK and the US."
Cassidy said she is "thrilled, excited, and stunned" in equal measure following the news.
A publisher offers a pre-empt to an author to secure a book deal without the risk of losing out at the usual auction process.
Cassidy added, "It’s a way for a publisher to lock in a book they’re very enthusiastic about, without the risk of losing out to competing bids in an auction. I was very fortunate for this to happen to my new (fifth book) Beautiful Liars in both the UK and US."
"It’s not out until 2027, but it’s been bought by the US publisher of Big Little Lies, so that’s exciting and terrifying! But mostly exciting!"
What is Beautiful Liars about?
According to The Bookseller, Beautiful Liars is set in an upscale Dublin community where a 17-year-old vanishes during a game of dare in the woods.
The novel follows three mothers as they protect their children who were there on the night Saskia disappeared.
