There's so much pressure to perfect a story that already means a lot to readers. However, some book-to-screen adaptations fail to impress them.
Some book-to-screen adaptations have blown people away like One Day and Normal People.
However, other productions were lackluster and disappointing like It Ends With Us.
The film may have made €349m worldwide in just three months, but Aura Print has confirmed it was voted the second worst book-to-screen adaptation in recent years.
Despite being a box office hit, earning €349m worldwide in just three months - the It Ends With Us film underperformed by 27.4%.
Set in Boston, Lily Bloom (Blake Lively) is chasing her lifelong dream of opening her business when she meets charming neurosurgeon Ryle (Justin Baldoni) and soon sparks an intense connection.
The Colleen Hoover fan-favourite book scored a rating of 4.14 on GoodReads and the film only scored 6.5/10 on IMDb.
Other bookish films that failed to impress cinema-goers included Uglies, Where The Crawdads Sing, and Fool Me Once.
