Marian Keyes announces new novel, Grown Ups, to be published next year

Keeley Ryan

We can’t wait for this.

Marian Keyes’ new novel, Grown Ups, is set to be published next year – and it has gone straight to the top of our ‘to read’ list.

Michael Joseph is scheduled to publish the book in Ireland and the UK on February 6, 2020.

The synopsis reads:

“They’re a glamorous family, the Caseys.

“Johnny Casey, his two brothers Ed and Liam, their beautiful, talented wives and all their kids spend a lot of time together – birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weekends away. And they’re a happy family. Johnny’s wife, Jessie – who has the most money – insists on it.

“Under the surface, though, conditions are murkier. While some people clash, other people like each other far too much…

“Everything stays under control until Ed’s wife Cara, gets concussion and can’t keep her thoughts to herself. One careless remark at Johnny’s birthday party, with the entire family present, starts Cara spilling out all their secrets.

“In the subsequent unravelling, every one of the adults finds themselves wondering if it’s time – finally – to grow up?”

The novelist took to Twitter on Wednesday to share the news – as she also debuted the cover for the book.

“My new book, Grown Ups, will be out on 6th February. It’s lots of fun, and although it kills me to say it, I’m proud of it,” she said.

The news comes amid the broadcast of the first episode of Between Ourselves with Marian Keyes on BBC Radio 4.
