October is a perfect time of year to get back into reading, especially on the days when the rain isn't stopping and the desire to go anywhere is non-existent.
Luckily, Amazon has an incredible Kindle sale on at the moment, and there are some bestselling books available for less than €2.
The fact that you can pick up a novel by Marian Keyes or a bestseller by Kristin Hannah for less than the price of a coffee is pretty remarkable.
We picked out some of our favourite reads from the current sale (which you can check out in full here), including a classic Irish novel, a cozy witchy read, and a thriller you won't be able to put down.
With the release of The Walsh Sisters, now is the perfect time to get your hands on a copy of My Favourite Mistake by Marian Keyes. The novel follows the youngest of the Walsh sisters, Anna, who has lost her taste for the Big Apple. The novel follows Anna, who had the perfect life in New York, as she returns to Ireland to help set up a luxury coastal retreat. However, her past catches up with her when old flame Joey Armstrong reappears.
If you're in the mood for something more cozy for spooky season, then Lucy Jane Wood is the perfect author for you. Her debut novel, Rewitched, is a spellbinding cosy fantasy about the magic of love in all its forms.
Belladonna Blackthorn hasn’t lost her magical spark, but she hasn’t seen it in a while either. But, when her thirtieth birthday brings a summons from her coven and a trial that tests her worthiness as a witch, Belle risks losing her magic forever. With the month of October to fix things and signs that dark forces may be working against her, Belle will need all the help she can get – from the women in her life, from an unlikely mentor figure, and even from an (infuriating) coven watchman who’s sworn to protect her.
This is one of those novels that everyone needs to read at some point in their life. Kristin Hannah has been a bestseller for some time, but this is a multimillion bestseller.
This story is about what it was like to be a woman during World War II when women's stories were all too often forgotten or overlooked . . . Vianne and Isabelle Mauriac are two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals and passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path towards survival, love and freedom in war-torn France.
If you're looking for the perfect thriller, then The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell is the book for you.
When a tragedy breaks a family apart, what can bring it back together?
The Birds seem to be the perfect family: mother, father, four children, a charming cottage in the country.
But one Easter weekend, something happens - something so unexpected, so devastating, that no one can bring themselves to talk about it.
The family shatters, seemingly for good. Until years later, they are forced to return to the house they grew up in, and to confront what really broke the family apart.
And finally, if you're looking for something exceptionally cheesy, then The Gingerbread Bakery by Laurie Gilmore is the cozy romance novel you need to buy.
The enemies-to-lovers novel is one you'll fly through on a rainy autumn day.
As owner of her beloved Gingerbread Bakery, Annie Andrews should have a love life to match her business; sugary and sweet. But instead, she’s locked in a game of words with the irritatingly upbeat bar owner down the street.
Mac Sullivan has everything he wants, except the girl he dreams of. It’s easier to argue with Annie than get her to talk to him, but with Jeanie and Logan’s wedding coming up, they're about to spend a lot more time together.
As the snowflakes fall and with romance in the air, will Annie see that the one she loves to hate might just be her perfect match after all?
