The second year of the hugely successful AIB Start-Up Academy, in association with the Irish Times, is about to kick-off, and now Jenny Reynolds of Topper Technology is set to take her place amongst the finalists.

The AIB Start-Up Academy asked the readers of Her.ie and JOE.ie. to select their wildcard option to get their chance to progress to the next round.

The seven wildcard Start-ups all posted short videos, explaining what their business has to offer. You can watch them again here.

After a public Twitter vote, Topper Technology trumped their competitors, securing the most mentions with their unique hashtag to win the wildcard round.

Speaking about her Wildcard win, Jenny said:

I am so happy, there are no words! I just wanted to say thanks to joe and her for running such an amazing competition. When you’re a start up it feels like you’re running up a steep hill. It was such an emotional journey, the support was unbelievable. WOD Holidays gave us some run for our money and put up such a fight. I wish them the best of luck and want to say to others to keep pushing on and chin up.”

Jenny, and her company Topper Technology, will now join 10 other finalists as they begin their journey at the AIB Start-Up Academy.

The winner and two runners-up of the eight-week business launch pad will share a prize package of €250,000, with the overall winner receiving a direct €20,000 cash investment.
