Adele has revealed that she was “embarrassed” when the news broke of her marriage breakdown.
The 33 year old got divorced from her ex-husband Simon Konecki in 2019 and she has revealed that a lot of the songs on her new album 30 are inspired by the break up.
Admitting that she was “f****** devastated”, she said it was embarrassing to be part of a failed marriage.
Speaking to Rolling Stone Magazine, she said: “It made me really sad. Then having so many people that I don’t know KNOW that I didn’t make that work … it f****** devastated me.
“I was embarrassed. No one made me feel embarrassed, but you feel like didn’t do a good job.”
The singer said that she didn’t feel like herself by the end of their relationship, adding: “I didn’t really know myself. I thought I did.”
The split led her to focus on herself, working out more in the gym and getting into fitness, to look after her mental health too.
Driving her more knowing that her emotions and mentality was benefitting from the gym, she also worked on her upcoming album as a way of healing too.
Adele is now dating sports agent Rich Paul and has spoken about how she never felt completely present in her other relationships, making her never want to invest her time into it.
