Ailbhe Garrihy certainly ended 2017 with a bang as just a few days before the New Year her fiance Ruaidhri popped the question.
And now, she has finally revealed how it all went down.
Speaking to Stellar, Ailbhe said: “Of course I hoped that it would happen someday, but I was pleasantly surprised this Christmas.
“We’d planned a trip to Fethard in Wexford (where Ruaidhrí grew up) a few days after Christmas.
“When we got there Ruaidhrí suggested we do the walk from the Hook Lighthouse to Slade with our dog and during the walk, he popped the question.”
How sweet! However, the PR guru said that she’s in no rush to start planning the wedding.
“We’re still really enjoying the whole engagement,” she said.
“People have been so nice and congratulatory, so we’re enjoying this moment and planning will start in time.”
It’s all go for the Garrihy sisters at the moment, as Doireann’s RTÉ sketch show kicked off last night, reining in rave reviews, while Aoibhin is expecting a baby this year.
