Amanda Bynes has been placed on “involuntary psychiatric hold”, after admitting that her claims of being sexually abused by her father were false.

The actress made the claims on Twitter this week, before later revealing that they had no basis in truth and a “microchip” in her brain had told her to do it.

TMZ is now reporting that the star is under a 5150 psychiatric hold at a Pasadena hospital, where she will be held for 72 hours. That hold can be extended for 14 days and Amanda’s parents are understood to be trying to get a conservatorship over her affairs.

The site claims that Amanda was tricked into going to the hospital by Sam Lutfi, who contacted her and convinced her to fly to LA so he could hook her up with a lawyer and help her sue her parents.

However, Lutfi was secretly working with Amanda’s parents in order to get her to a hospital where doctors could place her on psychiatric hold.

Lutfi was also Britney Spears’ manager in 2008 and was accused by Britney’s parents of “recklessly medicating her” before she was eventually strapped to a stretcher and taken to a psych ward. He claims that he was trying to protect the singer.
