Chris Hemsworth has announced he’s taking a much-needed break from acting and becoming a stay at home dad.

The star who has been working on movies back-to-back for the past year has revealed that all the travelling and constant filming, his career has taken its toll on his family life, and it’s now time to prioritise the important things.

The hunky 35-year-old revealed that his children are now at an age where they’re aware he’s gone for long periods of time and he doesn’t want them to feel like he’s neglecting them.

The Thor star spoke to the Sydney Daily Telegraph revealing his decision to pull away from Hollywood.

“This year I probably won’t shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids.

“They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”

Chris shares three children alongside his wife, Elsa Pataky. The pair have a seven-year-old called India and twin five-year-old boys, Sasha and Tristan.

It is expected that Chris will spend the year in Australia at his home in Byron Bay.

Chris and Elsa married in 2010 and will celebrate 10 years of marriage in December 2020.
