Former Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has shared his autism diagnosis with his fans.
The professional dancer, who used to appear on the Channel 4 show alongside his family, took to Instagram to share the news.
In the caption of a photo posted yesterday, he wrote: “I don’t normally do very personal posts like this but I thought this one was important.
“I’ve always felt a bit different, a bit socially awkward and like I just don’t process things in the same way as everybody else. Finally I have an explanation.”
He continued: “I’ve recently been diagnosed as autistic. Something that both makes sense to me whilst at the same time is something completely new to learn about and understand more about why I am the way I am. Now begins the journey.”
He added: “This one goes out to all the kids that have ever felt misunderstood due to being a little bit different.”

In the comments, Tom was met with support.
His girlfriend, model Bryony Briscoe wrote: “Proud of you for this and I’m with you all the way.”
Several fans also shared their support for Tom, and thanked him for sharing his diagnosis.
One wrote: “Thank you so much for this post Tom, honestly it makes a massive difference! I’m 33 and currently waiting for a diagnosis, and you have put it perfectly about being relieved as we finally have an explanation, well done to you for being brave.”
Another fan shared that they were also diagnosed as an adult.
“Doesn’t it feel good to finally have an understanding of self?” they wrote. “I’ve still a lot to learn and a lot to understand about myself but it’s a start. I’m happy for you! Here’s to the journey ahead.”
Tom was part of the Gogglebox cast until he made the decision to quit the show last year. His family continue to be cast members.
