Honest teenager returns Chris Hemsworth’s wallet and receives an enormous reward

Honesty pays

Not all heroes wear capes.

This story is just a perfect storm of loveliness where everyone comes out of it looking great. It also kinda reaffirms our faith in humanity and the redoubling power of kindness.

Whilst his superhero buddies are earning rave reviews in Captain America: Civil War, Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth is resting his Thor hammer and enjoying a well-earned break.

But he needed a superhero of his own after he lost his wallet in Los Angeles, whilst out dining with his family. Thankfully, a remarkable young man found the potential eBay treasure.

“I left my wallet on the table, and thought I’m never going to get it back, I’m never going to see it again,” explained Hemsworth on the The Ellen Show.

But instead of hawking it on the black market or holding the actor ransom, 17-year-old Tristin Budzyn-Baker knew the only decent thing to do was to return the wallet to his rightful owner.

“I looked up at my mom, and was like ‘Mom! Do you know who this is?!'” Budzyn-Baker recalled. “We found Thor’s wallet!” He then immediately contacted Hemsworth’s management informing them of the discovery.

Again, in an act of selflessness, his only hopeful request was that they might be able to sort out tickets for his mum to join the audience of The Ellen Show, upon which the actor was due to appear.

Of course a very grateful Hemsworth granted his small wish – and then some. Budzyn-Baker (along with his mum) was invited on to the show and asked to recount the incident. Not only that but the teenager was given a humungous reward.

Seeing as he hadn’t touched a cent from the Australian’s bulging wallet, the Avengers’ star gave the youngster the cash contents and more, whilst Ellen DeGeneres added a remarkable $10,000 (around £7k) award on top of that.

It seems honesty does pay after all.
