Emma Watson’s passionate speech about feminism and gender inequality received a standing ovation last week.

The actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador spoke about “how women should be afforded the same respect as men” and it seems her remarks have won her new fans.

Singer Taylor Swift appeared on French Canadian show Tout le Monde en Parle this week and said that she thought the speech was “incredible”.

“I wish when I was 12 years old, I had been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful poignant way the definition of feminism,” Taylor said.

Taylor Swift is hiding her heartbreak well after her split with Harry Styles earlier this week. But the singer definitely showed the boybander what he’s missing by looking flawless on the red carpet. Her subtle strip of fake eyelashes open up her eyes to create a smokin’ hot look.

“Because I would have understood it and then earlier on in my life I would have proudly claimed that I was a feminist”.

Twenty four-year-old Taylor continued: “I just think that a lot of girls don’t know the definition and the fact that Emma got up and explained it, I think it’s an incredible thing and I am happy to live in a world where that happened”.

The speech Emma gave marked the launch of the HeForShe campaign which is hoping to get 100,000 men and boys involved in the fight against gender inequality.
