Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has signed her first record deal as a solo artist with Polydor Records and Universal Music Group. The singer announced the news on her Instagram this morning. "So excited to announce that I've signed my first ever solo record deal with Polydor Records and Universal Music Group," she said in the caption. "This is such a pinch me moment. Announcing her departure she said, "The truth is being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard. "There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process. "So, after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I'm announcing I'm leaving Little Mix." She added: "I need to spend time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I'm ready to embark on a new chapter in my life. I'm not sure what it's going to look like right now, but I hope you'll still be there to support me." Jesy then thanked her fans, as well as her band members, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne. It's not yet known when her debut solo single will be released. Earlier this week, Jesy shared a photo of herself in a recording booth with the caption "Cooking up the sauce", hinting that new music is on the way.
