He said that he was tempted to ‘throw the towel in’ when Johannah passed away.

Louis Tomlinson lost his mother in December after a long battle with Leukaemia.

Johannah Deakin was a mother of seven with her youngest being twins aged two.

Louis received a lot of praise for his strength following her tragic death. He performed on the X Factor very soon after she died and continued working and promoting his music.

When speaking to Sirius XM Louis was asked how he felt about performing after his mother died.

‘It’s not something that I feel 100 percent comfortable talking too much about.’ He said.

‘But just quickly, when I first found out the news I kind of did want to throw the towel in, but it was my mum who said to me that I’ve just got to keep going. She told me very sternly that she wanted me to.’

Louis had mentioned at the time of his mother’s passing that she wanted him to perform on the X Factor.

”It was tough, but I felt like it was nice for me to almost have a little send-off for her.” He added.

The Just Hold On singer also spoke about Zayn Malik and what their relationship is like now.

I think a lot of us have spoken recently, me and Zayn have spoken recently, we’ve gotten to a point now where you can just really be happy for each other,” he said.

“Things have happened in the past, of course. And his first song was an absolute smash, and that’s a great song, so yeah it’s nice.”
