Add us as a preferred source on Google »Ashley Cain revealed he was expecting another baby this month, but his ex-partner Safiyya Vorajee said she is struggling with the news.
The couple lost their daughter to cancer when she was only eight months old.
Safiyya said she was shocked when Ashley broke up with her after their daughter's death, but she always hoped they'd get back together.
In an interview with The Sun, Safiyya said there was always a hope they'd get back together.
They were on good terms, but Ashley ended their relationship after he had a drink.
She described the break-up as "quick and brutal".
"He said he couldn’t do it anymore," she revealed.
Safiyya said she never let go of the hope they'd get back together.
"We spoke nearly every day about the Foundation. We would hug like friends. I was waiting for him to say, ‘Let’s get back together, let’s have that baby’. I never asked him though. I didn’t want to push him away," she said.
Safiyya said she always wanted another child but she was afraid it would look like she was trying to replace her baby girl.
"I didn’t want a baby to think they’d been born because I wanted Azaylia. I wanted to fill a void. It had to be as a proper family," she confessed.
She said she held it together when Ashley told her he got another woman pregnant.
Safiyya said it was a heartbreaking moment for her.
"That’s the heartbreaking thing about it. Even when he told me, I put him first so he didn’t feel guilty for telling me. Inside I was screaming and crying," she revealed.
Ashley Cain has not confirmed the identity of the woman he is having another child with. However, he has stressed that they are not together.
